A bright and breezy Sunday greeted not  only the Coronation Cup and Mug races, but also visits from the Harbour Conservancy, Hayling Island RNLI  "B" and "D" class RIBs and Harbour Oyster Boat Terror, crewed by Club members Roger Palmer and Val Davis.

Club members were invited to have a closer look and actually go on the RNLI vessels to discover how Lifeboats are involved  in harbour life and their roles and duties.

Terror  also  generated considerable interest, with members climbing aboard – and maybe even encouraging more customers to book trips!

Support on the terrace was provided by the Hayling Lifeboat Station and the local RNLI fundraisers, who were kept busy selling cards and momentoes.  The Harbour team were handing out leaflets and providing information about the role of the Conservancy in preserving the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

An interesting and successful visit all round!
