The Sailors for the Sea Clean Regatta accreditation is a leading global sustainability certification for events taking place on or near the water. It provides event organisers with practical actions and resources to reduce their environmental impact while encouraging sailors, participants and spectators to make more sustainable choices. We were delighted to achieve Platinum accreditation for our Junior Regatta in June this year and would like to apply again for the Emsworth Regatta, building on this previous commitment and continuing to make our regattas more environmentally sustainable.
For juniors, parents/guardians are responsible for deciding if their child should race. They should assess the sailor's skill, the weather conditions, and whether the sailor can right the boat unaided. Parents/guardians must also ensure that the boat is properly rigged for both the conditions and the sailor's ability.
