Welcome to Emsworth Sailing Club's website, where you will find details of all on-water and off-water activities currently planned, tide times and heights, racing and training information, opening times for Ollie's Bar & Kitchen, details of who's who within the Club and how to contact them, plus news items and Club photos from recent years.
We are full to capacity with approx. 1700 members and we strive to provide a year-round programme for them all whatever their interests, whether they are families, couples, grandparents or juniors. We have excellent facilities, i.e. a dinghy park with nearly 400 billets, large changing rooms, a fantastic clubhouse, a car park for almost 100 vehicles, and of course a heated outdoor swimming pool. Our bar and kitchen needs are met by Ollie, Eloise and the Clifts Catering team, and the Club is run on a day-to-day basis by our excellent office staff, Liz, Victoria and Zoe, and our very hardworking committee members, who give their time all year round.
On the water, Craig Summers and the Sailing Committee have put together a fantastic programme of racing, social sailing, adult and junior dinghy training and powerboat training. We have a growing fleet of dinghies available to rent, saving you the cost of billeting, insurance and maintenance, and we also rent out stand up paddleboards (SUPs) and kayaks.
Off the water, Debs Owen-Ellis Clark and the House Committee have planned all sorts of great events suppers, talks, quizzes, bingo, discos - both physical and virtual with more to come.
In the kitchen, Ollie has cooked up lots of delicious new dishes to tempt you, including his excellent hot and cold takeaway meals. Please continue to support him by booking your table or your takeaway!
Around our fantastic grounds, Tim Keeping and the Estates Committee continue to improve, update, replace, remove, mend and decorate, so that the Club's facilities are the best that they can be for all our members.
Communications are vital at this time. 2020 taught us many things and one of them was flexibility in how we arrange and communicate events to you. This website and the Weekly Roundup email will give you all current information and there is also a link here allowing you to add the ESC programme to your personal calendar, so that you can keep bang up to date.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our Club and without them it simply could not function. We have an extraordinary amount of talent within our membership, so if you would like to get involved, whether as a regular or on an occasional basis, please let the office know.
In summary, whatever your age and your interests, we aim to provide a full range of events to keep you happy throughout the year. If you want to get on the water, we want to make it as easy as possible, whether you're racing competitively or just messing about with friends. If you want to stay ashore, we hope you'll enjoy the talks, films, quizzes, themed suppers, bistro nights and parties. Or you can simply come and eat, drink, see your friends and make new ones, whilst enjoying our wonderful view of the harbour. It's all about you the members, and giving you the best Club that we can.
I am delighted to be serving as your Commodore in our 102nd year. Enjoy the website and I look forward to seeing you at the Club please come and say hello!
