The Club

Dear Members
Welcome to Emsworth Sailing Club's website, where you will find details of all the on-water and off-water activities currently planned, tide times and heights, racing and training information, opening times for Ollie's Bar & Kitchen, details of who's who within the Club and how to contact them, plus news items and Club photos from recent years. The website is updated on an ongoing basis and will give you the most up-to-date information.
We are full to capacity (with approximately 1720 members) and we strive to provide a year-round programme for all of them whatever their interests might be and whether they are families, couples, grandparents or juniors. We have excellent facilities, i.e. a dinghy park with nearly 400 billets, large changing rooms, a fantastic clubhouse, a car park for almost 100 vehicles, and of course a heated outdoor swimming pool (open in high season). Our bar and kitchen needs are met by Ollie, Eloise and the Clift's Catering team, and the Club is run on a day-to-day basis by our excellent office staff, Liz, Victoria, Linzi and Zoe, and our very hardworking committee members, who give their time and expertise all year round.
On the water, Craig Summers and the Sailing Committee have put together a fantastic programme of racing, social sailing, adult and junior dinghy training and powerboat training. We have a growing fleet of dinghies available to rent, saving you the cost of buying, billeting, insurance and maintenance, and we also rent out stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), kayaks and windsurfers. These can be booked via 'Book/Club boats' in the Members area of the website.
Off the water, Debs Owen-Ellis Clark and the House Committee continue to plan all sorts of great events including suppers, talks, quizzes, bingo nights, bridge club, coffee mornings, discos and parties, as well as supporting the on-water programme.
In the kitchen, Ollie has cooked up lots of delicious new dishes to tempt you, so please check the Off Water section of the website for full information.
Around our fantastic grounds, Tim Keeping and the Estates Committee continue to improve, update, replace, remove, mend and decorate, so that the Club's facilities are the best that they can be for all our members.
Communications with the membership continues to be all-important to us. This website and the Weekly Roundup email will give you all current information and there is also a link here allowing you to add the ESC programme to your personal calendar, so that you can keep bang up to date.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our Club and without them it simply couldn't function. We have an extraordinary amount of talent within our membership, so if you would like to get involved, whether as a regular or on an occasional basis, please let the office know (01243 372850).
In summary, whatever your age and your interests, we aim to provide a full range of events to keep you happy throughout the year. If you want to get on the water, we want to make it as easy as possible, whether you're racing competitively or just messing about with friends. If you want to stay ashore, we hope you'll enjoy the talks, quizzes, themed suppers and parties. Or you can simply come and eat, drink, see your friends and make new ones, whilst enjoying our wonderful view of the harbour. It's all about you the members, and giving you the best Club that we can.
I am truly honoured to be serving as ESC's Commodore for a third year. Please enjoy the website and I look forward to seeing you at the Club. Do come and say hello!
