Winter training for Oppie sailors, aimed at those who are beyond RYA Stage 3. Five sessions in total, starting in November ending in March 2024.

ESC is excited to announce its 23/24 Oppie Winter training, as an extension to Friday night Oppies; the aim of which is to maintain the skills learnt through this year and prevent skill fade over the winter months. The training is aimed at those sailors who enjoy racing, have at least RYA Stage 3, and have participated in some club racing; above all it is for sailors who want to keep learning and have a fun time on the water. All sailors must be self-sufficient on the water especially in the event of a capsize and equipped to cope with the weather conditions. Given that this is winter training, the total session length will be limited 4 hours not all of which will be spent on the water, with sufficient breaks so the sailors do not get cold.
