Rowing - Mindful (new)

Mindful row - a new approach aiming to improve your rowing technique.
A new type of row, aimed at all rowers that have had at least 5 rows in Escapade, either social or training. The natural rhythm of rowing can be used as a moving meditation, helping us to concentrate on the breath and mental focus. This in turn can give us the opportunity of a tranquil experience, taking in the nature around us and helping us to leave the daily stress behind and have a moment to ourselves. The row will be held in silence other than the cox's instructions and the meditative prompts. This first row will be set early, in order to catch the sunrise, fingers crossed for a beautiful morning.

• Please remember that life jackets/buoyancy aids are now required on the pontoon and in the boat.
• Rowers should wear comfortable clothes appropriate to the weather conditions. Leggings, shorts or outdoor trousers are all appropriate and either wellies or training shoes. Many rowers wear sailing gloves to give hands a bit of additional protection. Please also bring a water bottle and a waterproof bag for any valuables.
• Please arrive in good time to help launch the boat, the row starts at the published time.
• If for any reason you are unable to row, please try and find a replacement via the rowing WhatsApp group and also cancel your booking via the website bookings page (you will need to be logged in). Any no-shows will be still be charged the £3 pin fee.
• The pin fee won't be charged at the time of booking, it will be charged after the row has been completed.
