RYA Race Coaching

26th - 29 August

Alongside Junior Race Week we are offering the opportunity to work towards with RYA Club Racing and RYA Regional Racing for those looking to take their racing knowledge and skills to the next level.

Those on the courses will have their own start and finish times as there is some classroom type learning to be done alongside the racing. The coaches will also be providing coaching on the water.

RYA Club Racing Improve you racing technique and knowledge for racing at club level, building on boat handling and speed, as well as starting to build the knowledge required to develop a strategy based on the conditions. Minimum Sailing Requiremnt: RYA Start Racing with experience of club racing.

RYA Regional Racing Developing skills and providing the knowledge required to enable adaptability in changing and challenging conditions and different venues. Minimum Sailing Requirements: RYA Club Racing + racing experience both at home and away.

Minimum Sailing Requirements: RYA Start Racing + further racing experience at club level

Improve you racing technique and knowledge for racing at club level, building on boat handling and speed, as well as starting to build the knowledge required to develop a strategy based on the conditions.

RYA Club Racing course content includes, how to make best use of the Five Essentials, mark rounding, pre-start boat handling at slow speed including starting and stopping, transits, clean wind, race strategy, sailing upwind, theory background scoring system, race instructions, boat preparation, tuning.

Minimum Sailing Entry Requirements: RYA Club Racing + Racing Experience both at the club and away

Developing skills and providing the knowledge required to enable adaptability in changing and challenging conditions and different venues

A practical course working on the key techniques and knowledge to enable you to take part in a wider range of open meetings and regional competition. This course will cover elements such as Starting from different parts of the line; formulating a pre-start race plan; changing the rig on the water; boat on boat tactics and loose and tight covering

Own boat required.
