Billets and moorings

Billets

Billets may be allocated in the Mountbatten Dinghy Park, on the terrace, in the board store, in the outboard store or in a designated winter storage area.

Each billet holder, regardless of the craft type, must undertake at least two sailing duties each year for each billet held. Failure to complete these duties may result in withdrawal of the allocated billet(s). The Billet Licence can be found here

To volunteer please click here - you will need to be logged in.

To apply for a billet, please complete this form.

The charge for a billet varies according to the size of the craft and/or the billet location. Details are available here.

Mountbatten Dinghy Park - the spaces in the southern part are available for dinghies with masts up, while the northern spaces have a condition that dinghy masts must be kept down. Masts on all dinghies must be taken down between 1 November and 1 March.

In order to retain a billet, every dinghy in the Mountbatten Dinghy Park must be sailed a minumum of eight times per season and these sails must be documented in the Billet Logbook.

Moorings

ESC has a number of moorings available for boats that can dry out upright. We have no deep water moorings but some are available from the Conservancy.

The ESC moorings are of three types:

Club moorings - in the main channel and we have a maintenance agreement with Chichester Harbour Conservancy.

Trot moorings - inshore adjacent to the Club and are maintained by the Club.

Fowley Rythe - mooring tackle is not provided, members provide their own. The Club is renting a site only.

Members interested in a mooring should contact Neil & Cath Mant, our Billets & Moorings Officer.

Please let the Billets & Moorings Officers know when a boat is sold, so that Club records can be updated.
