Although this is an official RYA qualification, it is a centre-specific certificate, awarded by ESC as the training centre and valid for five years (renewable).

The training weekend will cover the procedures for training at Emsworth Sailing Club, the RYA training schemes (Youth and Adult), the training sequence and the RYA method for tacking and gybing. There will be a mixture of sessions on and off the water. To gain the actual certificate after the training weekend, Assistant Instructors will be need to work one session (about 4 hours) supporting a training session.
