RYA Safety Boat October
This is a very practical, "hands on", 2 day course with the key objective of learning and practising the techniques used for recovering dinghies and other craft, with the aim of giving you the confidence to better fulfill your club duty when in a powerboat. The course also covers escorting race fleets, towing, and assisting in race management. The first day will be spent with single-hander dinghies, windsurfers and kayaks, and the second day with double-handers, including recovering inverted boats. Much of the weekend will be spent on the water in a powerboat, with the intention that you will NOT be totally immersed in the water!
Required experience - RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate must be held prior to this course.
Ideally you will have a basic understanding of sailing boats and windsurfers.
