Introduction to your new Junior Captains

Last week I was delighted to welcome and introduce our new Junior Captains, and this week I'm equally delighted that they can introduce themselves to you in their own words.

Eliza South

Hi everyone, I've been a member of Emsworth Sailing Club since we moved to the town 4 years ago. I've raced everything from an Oppie, Topper, Laser 4.7, Feva, 420, RS800, Dart 18 to a Hobie 16 and most recently the 29er and Laser Radial!

I'm also a qualified dinghy instructor, a keen windsurfer and surfer and I play rugby at college where I'm studying for my A-Levels......

My plan for 2022 is to encourage maximum participation in Club activities from socials to sailing...... be that fun on the water or racing! I'm looking forward to meeting you all soon!

Julian Wilcock

I am a student at College. I am a keen sportsman and apart from sailing I enjoy football and rugby.

I have been sailing for 9 years. I started off as a not very confident Martlet but now love sailing, whether it be racing or just messing about with friends. I have recently qualified as a dinghy instructor, and you may have seen me around the Club helping with the Martlets or taking part in junior events such as COW week.

Along with the other Junior Captains this year I would like to be a voice for the juniors. My main aim is to help current juniors to have the amazing experience that I have had. I would like to get the parents involved as much as possible, making the sailing fun for all. I want to help younger juniors feel more confident when sailing, whether that is racing or just sailing. I also want to encourage older juniors, whether new to sailing or experienced, to get involved with all the Club's activities both on and off the water.

Toby Greatorex

Hello! My name is Toby and I have had a passion for water sports all my life. I am a competitive sailor and I love being down at the Sailing Club with friends and family. I am keen and excited to be your Junior Captain and I hope to make this year on the water the best ever.
