Upcoming RYA training for ESC members

BSUPA Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Instructor Course: 26-27 August
We have the opportunity to run a BSUPA SUP instructor course on Tuesday 26 - Wednesday 27 August (this is after the Bank Holiday weekend). My question is, would there be enough interest from Club members to make it worthwhile? If you think this might be of interest then please confirm an "expression of interest" here.
The course will cover paddle skills, safety, group control and SUP general knowledge.
Candidates will need to have an in-date first aid certificate, RYA Powerboat Level 2, and be a member of BSUPA. Candidates should have SUP skills equivalent to BSUPA Level 1 Ready to Ride (but not necessarily have the award), meaning they must be able to do:
- effective short paddle strokes
- step back turn
- reversing board and paddle.
This will be a 2-day course running from 09:00 17:00 hours on both days, 50% of which will be afloat. The minimum age is 14. The estimated cost will be around £150. Please register your interest here.

RYA Youth training

This year we will be offering a range of RYA Youth Stage courses: for those looking to start sailing to those looking for more advance skills. If you have children at different stages, we are trying to line the Millpond training times up as far as possible with the harbour times for your ease and convenience. Booking for all courses can be made here

We will be running further training weeks in May half term and in the Summer holidays with repeats of the RYA Youth stages but also looking to offer some racing modules and advance modules too. As these courses become available to book they will be announced first here on the Weekly Round Up. All courses will only run if we have sufficient bookings to make them viable - so please book as soon as you can so that we can all plan effectively.
