The 2025 season is underway!

Day 1 of the Easter championship - started under AP, with the terrace so busy with 3 training courses taking place and the race competitors rigging and launching it became a challenge just to get to the start line.

The variable easterly breeze, ranging from 6 to 12 knots, was a challenge to set consistent course lengths, but managed to fit in 3 short but hotly contested races.

In the Open fleet, the 420's stayed close barely a minute between boats in all 3 races, only to find on handicap, the ILCA 4.7 of Harry to slip in two 1sts.

In Tera's, Felix making the move this year moving up from the Oppi, quickly found the front of the fleet,

In the depleted Oppi fleet, Jack leads the field with three 1st's.

Day 2 - dawns with 20+ knot winds, so we lost our first days racing of 2025.

Day 3 - the sun is shining and we've a 12 knot south easterly, 'fizzy pop' sailing conditions!

Following over winter feedback we introduced the trapezoid course to the sailors for the first time. Whilst some puzzled looks were seen at the pre race briefing, the on water racing went to plan; Oppies on I2, Teras on 03 and Open fleet on an extended loop down toward Sweare Deep, it kept the Race Team on their toes; with multiple fleets finishing at the same time and occasions of a fleet finishing whilst another in start sequence.

In the Tera the dominance of Felix continued with another two wins, whilst in the Oppis it was brother Tobias who led the day. In the open fleet it was Ruthie and Max's day in the 420 edging out Harry in the ILCA with two wins.

Final positions across the 6 races, Harry with a net 5 points was pushed to 2nd overall by Ruthie and Max, also net 6 points, but winning on count back.

In the Feva another tie on net 5 points, went the way of Charlie and Fletcher on count back.

In the Tera, never in doubt, was Felix at net 4 points, whilst the Addison boys took all 1st places between them, with Jack 1st overall.

Many thanks to all those who supported, both on water and ashore. Also to Matthew a special mention as time keeper aboard Escort, who kept his cool with timing of multiple fleet finishes, and on one occasion one fleet in race start sequence whilst another fleet finishing, never a dull moment aboard Escort!

If you missed this event the Spring Championship will soon be with us.

Kind regards
