Jerry White writes: With entries capped at 23, a star-studded cast turned up for Rooster sponsored E.S.C Dragonflite 95 regatta.
Race Officer Richard Calas, managed to fit in 12 Windward Leeward races in 2.5 hours (how's that for value for money?) Mark rounding's were very busy, with Umpire Rod Carr politely reminding those who infringed to do their turns.
With boats 6 or more finishing at the same time, the finishing team of Kate White, Catherine Jones, Tim Crabtree and Alan Perry were kept on their toes!
The course was a beat the length of the millpond and a run down, with a short beat to the finish.
Most boats opted for tacking up the shore, with much shouting for water, but leaving you precariously on port once tacked as more starboard tackers piled in, you learn your rules very quickly R.C Yachting!
Out of the melee was one clear winner, Dave Acres (RS300 sailor) turned up late missed the first race and beat Steve Cockerill (Mr.Rooster) by a whopping 12 points.
Thank you to Richard Calas and his Race Team, Rooster Sailing for their generous prizes, and Emsworth Sailing Club for prizes and brilliant bar staff looking after us.
