Beacon Food Bank donations

Published 00:00 on 5 Jan 2023
After the huge success of last year's Harvest Festival, where ESC members donated fantastic amounts of non-perishable food to the Beacon Food Bank, from this weekend onwards there will be a crate in the Wet Bar for members to drop in any donations that they may have. Alternatively, donations can be handed to Ollie's staff behind the bar.
A number of ESC members regularly volunteer at the Food Bank and they will ensure that all donations are safely delivered. There will be a list on the front of the crate showing which items are especially needed, and this will be updated on an ongoing basis, but in general terms, the following are always required;
Instant coffee, tins (vegetables, tuna, tomatoes), rice, sugar (small bags), squash (bottles), teabags, biscuits, jam/marmalade/honey etc.
(Dried pasta, cereal, soup, baked beans, sanitary products are not currently needed).
Please make sure that all items are within their 'best before' date, as out of date items cannot be given out.
Unsurprisingly at the present time donations are down but demand is up, and therefore anything that you are able to donate will be very gratefully received.
Thank you.
