Our Cruisers' Fitting Out Supper is on Saturday 27 March and during this well subscribed event (over-subscribed of late!) fellow member, Paul Flint, will present his epic cruise with a difference. His presentation will be submitted for the Volana Casket award. Book here.
Bembridge Rally: Saturday 12 April
Ever hopeful for a wonderful sailing season ahead, but mindful of our chilly Spring waters, our first rally to Bembridge is later this year, on Saturday 12 April. A Rally Code will follow soon, to enable you to book with Duver Marina at a discounted rate.
Volana Casket 2024-25
James Collings-Wells' presentation of one of his super trips resulted in him winning this prestigious trophy last year.
For this season we welcome further tales of daring or simply delightful cruiser sailing. Your trip may have been an entrancing exploration of a wildlife-filled creek, perhaps a charter in the untouched Bahamas, or even the Holy Grail which is the ARC.
If you wish to become involved, no matter when your trip took place, please drop me a line.
May Rally: 3-5 May (or longer)
We plan a rally to Cowes and then Yarmouth.
Improve your sailing? - date tbc
Club member and retired sail maker extraordinaire, Jerry White, will present hints and tips to enable you to get the most out of your cruiser's sails. (I wish someone had guided me 40 years ago when bumbling around Holland and the Red Sea).
CCRC dinner and sailing/racing at the Hornet Services Sailing Club: 19-20 April save the date
CCRC have a special Easter Saturday dinner booked at the Hornet Services Sailing Club, from 18:15 hours, and they are inviting cruisers (with partners) from ESC, ESSC , Bosham, Portsmouth and Portchester Sailing Clubs to join them. Either side of the dinner, on 19&20 April, there will be sailing and racing for those interested. More details to follow soon. Read more here.
