2000 class

With the continuing interest in the 2000 dinghy at ESC and in the UK, the Club has asked Lou Duffy and me (Jonny Hepworth) to act as ESC 2000 Class Captains! For people that know us, administration is not one of our strong points (!) however we do have a passion for these boats and regularly meet with the UK 2000 Association on the odd race or social event. So, in the interests of spreading the love and getting more people out in 2000s at Emsworth, and even flying the ESC flag at open events, we are pleased to act as the conduit for all things 2000 at ESC.

It will be our aim to create a 2000 community where we have our own on-shore support team to help out with technical and practical items, on-water events (cruising and racing) integrating with the 2000 Association and the Club calendar, and then 2000-specific notification area/emails to keep you up to date. We can make good use of the excellent content and activities already provided by the 2000 Association and the Club's website.

The first thing we'd like to point out is a super opportunity to use and improve your racing skills through two events scheduled for the weekend 24-25 July. Firstly ESC and ESSC are organising a class racing event where they will have specific class races for a number of classes including the 2000. Alternatively, If you want to race against the best 2000 racers in the UK, then Thorney Island SC are hosting a 2000 Association open event of their well attended 2021 Millennium series. The format is likely to be 3 races a day.
