ESC members and their guests come and hear all about the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race - one of the biggest challenges of the natural world and an endurance test like no other. Hosted by ESC club member, Chris Harris, the Clipper Race Crew Recruitment Director (and former Race Crew), he will be joined by a participant from the most recent 2023-24 edition, which started and finished in Portsmouth.

AND if you think you've got what it takes to join the selection process for the 2025-26 Race, Chris is on the lookout for participants with a good level of fitness, aged over 18 - with a thirst for adventure into the unknown. The Race is divided into eight legs and up to 16 individual races, over 700 race crew, representing over 50 nations from all walks of life to complete the full circumnavigation or select individual legs. Chris has a background in communications and public affairs and was based in London for 10 years before deciding that he needed a new adventure taking part in the Clipper 2015-16 Race even though he had very little previous experience of sailing.

Chris Harris will now be joined by Ella Nieper, who took part in 3 legs of the last Clipper Race on board Our Isles and Oceans. She was the Onboard Media Prize Winner and is pictured below with Sir Robin Knox-Johnston and another crew member.
