Arrangements for racing

Racing for the rest of the season will use the attached Sailing Instructions, which are issued by both Clubs. We may have to update them as restrictions allow, but we'll let you know of any changes. Individual races or regattas may have their own SIs which we'll tell you about.

There are no big changes, but we'd point out that these sailing instructions do not replace official Government guidance regarding appropriate social distancing and all precautions in force at the time of the race. Competitors should ensure that they are following safe practice as per the current Government guidelines.

In order to help keep social distancing, the two Clubs are introducing digital sign-on and sign-off.

These should simply replace the paper we normally use, but will allow the Race Officers to see a combined entry on one sheet, and simplify the results process.

This is version 1 - depending on how it goes, we'll improve it as we go through the season - send us your feedback.

So for this weekend, you need to visit https://bit.ly/EmsSignOn to sign on. You need to do this for each race. Ideally you do this before going to the Club, and over an hour before the race. If you forget, there will be a link at the Club for you to do this. Others can sign on for you if you don't have a phone at the Club.

As the race starts, all entrants will get an email with a link to sign-off, which you can get to via https://bit.ly/EmsSignOff, once the race finishes.
