2000 class update

The continued interest in 2000 sailing continues in our club seeing new crews and some of our club's top sailors choosing to helm or crew the club boats or existing owner's boats to pass on skills and local knowledge. Great to see interest grow Here is an update on the progress we are making to create a 2000 section and family within the club.
Boat tweaking
We have now performed 4 sessions on our members boats, resetting the rig to the base 'it works' setting documented within the 2000 Association technical forum. Please contact us if you want yours reset.
Racing
There has been some tight racing and improved results in recent club racing and we have the rest of the Harvey Dixon to come so please continue to make the effort and join the fun ! Plus, there are 2 great local events at the end of the month that will see some great 2000 racing against a wide range of experience from newbies to UK National Champion. The first is on the 25th September at Chichester Yacht Club, racing in a great stretch of water. 3 races on the day. Then on the 26th there are another 3 races put on by Itchenor SC. The ISC races will have the added benefit of having some of the top 2000 sailors providing on the water coaching! See links below to register.

What's coming
The club have generously agreed to part fund a days coaching by Simon Horsfield, RYA Coach and past 2000 UK champion, we are in discussion with Simon to find a date this year to put this on. We already have 10 boats interested subject to dates. Watch this space.
Our club's race organisers have agreed to run a 2000 race series within our established race series. We are just working on the logistics, but it will include the provision of our own table and some nice silverware from within the club's cupboard. In the spirit of the 2000, we will aim to also have prizes outside of the top 3 for items like Champagne Moments and funniest gaff etc.
Website development
We are requesting a separate area on the ESC website to make news updates and local support info and events.
