COW Week report

Published 01:00 on 1 Aug 2022
Wow, what a wonderful sunny week we had! Over 100 Juniors joined us for our traditional Children On the Water Week of fun on and off the water. The sun shone and the wind blew, and there was plenty of time for sailing.
Special thanks to Alex Healey and our older Juniors who helmed Club boats to provide the younger children with a great positive experience of sailing, which for some was their first time. Ian Williams' voice could be heard throughout the harbour with the help of his megaphone as he expertly ran Pontoon and Pool Olympics. Thank you to Simon Townsend and Junior Captains Eliza and Julian who calmly and enthusiastically organised the sailing days. The week ended with a climbing wall being placed in the compound for all to enjoy!
Lots of children had a go at it and enjoyed the view from the top - even our Junior Coordinator, Andy.
Thanks go to Ollie and his team for a great BBQ and keeping up with requests for cheesy chips and coffee for the adults, as some mornings were a little early.
Our last thanks go to everyone who helped with duties, making cakes and bringing their children. "Many hands make light work" and it was fantastic to see the community sprit which make events like this work so well for our Club.
Well done to the excellent model boats build for the COW Week race on the swimming pool: Oliver, George, Adam, Jake, Joseph, Tommy, Dexter, Elodie: view the swimming pool antics and rafts
