The talk will be given by Peter Haydn Jones OBE, a Corporate Ambassador for Dementia Support. This relatively new charity aims to enhance the wellbeing and quality of life for people with dementia, their family, friends and carers. Peter will talk about the work of the charity with an emphasis on how it can benefit individuals supporting family and friends with dementia.

Dementia Support was founded in 2014 by a group of people who had experienced dementia in their own families. They found the health and social care system disjointed and difficult to navigate, with a lack of specialist dementia services, and felt that families affected by dementia deserved better. Since 2018 the charity has provided a full range of dementia services from their welcoming and accessible hub - providing seamless support from pre-diagnosis through to end-of-life care - support that is easy to navigate and not available anywhere else. The charity is based at Sage House which is a bespoke, modern and functional community centre where local dementia services are brought together under one roof to provide the latest support, information, advice and activities to those living with Dementia. Sage House is in Tangmere, Chichester. The long-term plan is to replicate this model in other communities through the charity's National Ambitions Program.

There will be ample opportunity for questions and discussion after the presentation over a light buffet.
