Historical records group team leader vacancy

Did you enjoy, during our centenary year, seeing the exhibition showing how the Club and sailing had evolved over the years? It was made possible by the fact that many paper documents and photographs have been saved from disposal and have been carefully looked after by the Club's Historical Records Group (HRG).
The job of the HRG has evolved over recent years because most data is now held digitally and if we are to remain able to track how the Club has moved, on we need to continue to adapt to that situation. That means collecting the information from its various sources, assessing it, and saving that which is likely to be of interest in the Club's archives so that it remains accessible in the future.
In recent years the HRG has been managed by John Williams, who feels that it now needs to be led by someone with more experience of record-keeping in the digital age. This may sound daunting but they and the rest of the enthusiastic HRG will continue to be available to assist and support that person, and are looking forward to working with new blood. The team is of course also supported by the office and various committees.
John would be happy to discuss what is involved in more detail if that would be helpful. So if you have any relevant experience and would be interested in taking this on or helping in some other way, please either contact him or let the office know.
Thank you!
