Trafalgar Night Dinner - 24th October 2020
Having watched the pressure growing with regards to the implementation of lockdowns, a limited lockdown, circuit breakers and planned precautionary breaks, we await further measures with some level of trepidation.
However, as things currently stand, the Trafalgar Night Dinner remains in place. We will be commencing the evening at 1830 hrs with the Dinner formally commencing at 1900 hrs. We are required by law to be clear of the Club by 2200 hrs. Our Dinner arrangements will subject to close scrutiny by Tim Keeping to ensure the Club is fully compliant and that our attendees are wholly safe.
Two days prior to the Dinner, in the best traditions of the Naval Service, all attendees will receive a copy of their own "Ships Daily Routine Orders" for the 24th of October. The "DRO's" will outline how the programme evening will unfold and what coronavirus rules must be followed.
On the evening in question, the observance of the coronavirus regulations will be the responsibility of the "Event Manager" or in this case, redesignated as the "Master at Arms'. For this Dinner the "MAA" will be Maggie March, who has a wide experience of imposing strict discipline !!!!! (you have been warned!)
So, we now enter a period of "Watchful Waiting" and await the evening of the 24th. If you have any queries or concerns regarding the evening, please drop me a line (firstname.lastname@example.org)
