A fascinating talk by Her Honour Judge Sarah Munro KC. Sarah will be discussing the progress of women in law, and her own career. In 2023 Sarah oversaw the first live broadcast of Crown Court proceedings.

The talk will be followed by fish pie and seasonal greens and followed by strawberry Eton mess for pudding.

Sarah was appointed a full-time judge in 2011. Before that she was a barrister in practice at the criminal bar.

A brief summary of Sarah's fascinating legal career includes her appointment as a QC in 2002 and being made a Bencher of the Inner Temple in 2016.

She was appointed to the Central Criminal Court in 2017 and prior to this, sat as a full-time judge at the Crown Court at Portsmouth. She is a Course Director for Judicial Homicide Training and Tutor Judge for the Judicial College. Sarah is also an Assistant Coroner for East London and in July 2022 she made legal history as the first judge to be broadcast passing sentence.

Sarah is a Freeman of the City of London and a Liveryman of the Ironmongers' Company.

She is currently chairing the Independent Inquiry into the Miscarriage of Justice suffered by Andrew Malkinson.
