Booking club boats
Published 08:54 on 24 Jun 2020
Club boats (excluding Optimists) are available for bookings again from this weekend onwards, however there are a few changes we have made in order to protect you when using the equipment.
Rather than relying on the time consuming, and possibly ineffective, cleaning and disinfecting of boats/SUPs between each use, we have decided instead to have a quarantine period of a minimum of 72 hours after a boat or board has been used.
This is the maximum time the live virus is thought to survive on a hard surface and therefore leave the equipment safe for the next user.
In order for this to be effective, initially boats will only be available on Saturdays for the whole day. In the event that a booking has not been made for a particular boat/SUP for the Saturday by Friday 18:00, then that boat/SUP will then be available for booking on the Sunday.
This should allow maximum use of the equipment without any risk of transmission of the virus between uses. For this reason and for your own protection the following rules must apply:
Only the member booking the boat/SUP or members of their own household or bubble may use the equipment for the duration of the booking.
Only the specific boat/SUP booked may be used. Under no circumstances should other equipment be used. This includes rudders, dagger boards, paddles etc.
This is for your own protection and that of other members.
