Rowing - CYC Celtic Regatta
Published 12:13 on 13 Nov 2025
This week's update brings us the refreshing news that we were able to attend CYC's Celtic Regatta with light winds, a calm sea and sunshine as a nice change!
ESC entered the Mens, Ladies, Mixed and Novice races resulting in us experiencing some super rowing but also demonstrating how competitive the inter club racing in the harbour is becoming. Well done to all the crews who rowed their hearts out. A fantastic win for the Ladies B crew in the novice race, bringing home an impressive trophy! Full results below;

CYC provided their usual excellent organisation for the eight teams attending, including impressive refreshments and rewards. The course was clockwise around laid buoys for 3km which included some long straights which really tested crew stamina!
Ultimately a great day's rowing. A big shout out to Brian who felt unwell just before the event - we really missed his heroic support of ESC's rowing community on Saturday and wish him a speedy recovery. I'd also like to thank everyone who stepped in to make the day run smoothly for all of the crews, another demonstration of the super camaraderie seen within rowing.
