In the Open fleet, Ollie and Toby led at the windward mark, trouble free until Ollie said hoist the kite! On the downwind leg Ollie found out Toby had never flown a kite before, things fell apart at the leeward mark with a capsize, whilst Ollie sorted the kite, he also found his crew a little light on the centreboard to prevent the boat inverting losing too much time and the fleet slipped by, led by the sister duo of Olivia and Georgina in a 420, who then led to the finish. This was the first outing for the girls in a 420 having moved up from a Feva in 2023, a good start.

In the Tera fleet the race went the way of Ella who led Kate and Rollo throughout the race, never changing places, but losing to Kate on handicap by just 11 seconds at the line. Further down the fleet places were gained and lost throughout the race.

The Oppi fleet Henry led from start to finish, with a close fight to the line by Jack and Olivia, separated by 6 seconds.

As race 1 was over a little too quickly, the beat was lengthened and squared for the shifting wind.

In race 2 the Open fleet was processional, led by Ollie and Toby from start to finish, the only place change between the 420 of Beanie & Max and Feva of Ben & Matthew on the final loop.

In the Tera fleet the start was tight, competitors timing the approach so no time wasted and on the line when the gun went.

Kate took the win; whilst Anna who preserved last season came thru last to finish, but with two retirees she moved up the table.

Henry in his Oppi took another win leading from start to finish, followed by Jack and Zoey, in a slightly depleted fleet.

With the wind increasing, by the time race 3 started fleets had dwindled somewhat, only the Open fleet at full strength.

The Open fleet it was again a procession, Ollie leading the way in the 2000 chased hard by the 420's of Olivia and Georgina in the 420, Tristan and Harry then Beanie and Max, with Ben and Matthew following in the Feva.

In the Tera fleet, Kate again led the field, with Noah moving up the fleet for his best result.

The Oppi race, with only two remaining 2 Oppi's, was led by Henry from start to finish . except at the line Henry realised he'd missed a mark and was declared NSC!

Congratulations to our winners:

Open fleet - Olivia and Georgina in a 420

Tera Fleet - Kate in Tera Sport

Optimist - Henry Davis

The weather had a big impact on this event, sadly cut short to just 1 day, but on the bright side there's another championship in May, not too far away.

A big thank you to all those supporting the event; Escort team, Rib crews, Tally team, helpers and our organiser Hailey.

Thank you all.
