RYA Stage 1 or Stage 2 - 28 to 31 May

Training for ESC members, will take place on the Millpond, in Optimists. Own boat (with short dagger board) and sailing kit required, Club hire boats available here on a first come first served basis.

RYA Stage 1:

Course Assumed knowledge - None

Course content - Launching and recovery, steering, parts of the boat, basic sailing

Ability after the course - Able to steer and understand basic principles

RYA Stage 2:

Course Assumed knowledge - Basic knowledge and steering ability to Stage 1 standard

Course content - Basic sailing skills, ropework, collision avoidance

Ability after the course - Able to tack and control boat speed, and understand basic principles
